Founded by world renown researcher and Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Hansoff Mefood, the Institute exists to perform cutting edge research to improve the taste lives of millions of around the globe. Until quite recently Dr. Hansoff's vision to give everyone of earth's inhabitants a free examnation of their Mendula-META-flavors was all but unreachable. For each individual to have the necessary examination was both time extensive and costs prohibitive. This changed completely when in May of 2005 the IAFR partnered with online site Meta Flavor. Three short years later on April 19th of 2008 the Institute officially certified Meta Flavor to examine the Mendula-META-flavor of individuals remotely. To date the Institute has not approved any other means through which humans can have their brains examined online.

In addition to the exciting research into the Mendula-META-flavor (MMF), the Institute's beautiful campus also houses the world's only Quantum Flavor Transformer (QFT) and one of only three Sub Atomic Flavor Analyzers (SAFA). In 2007 the Institute opened it's doors to the public, conducting twice daily tours of the campus. On the third Wednesday of every other month visitors are in for a very special treat as IAFR researchers demo the Quantum Flavor Transformer to an expecting public audience. Understandably this exciting event has led to the Institute becoming a tourist hot spot. When people travel from around the globe to view this remarkable machine at work they bring back exciting and wonderful stories to tell their friends and family.
